Working for Water

 

Water is in short supply in the Alta Guajira of northeastern Colombia. The region has been affected by drought for decades. In 2014, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Repsol began a major new community water program. Through the creation of jagüeyes (reservoirs) and water supply systems the initiative is benefitting 1600 indigenous Wayuu people.
